Ranting Hatter in Wonderland Day 1

THIS IS THE WONDERLAND SERIES OF YOUR RANTING HATTER. :)

HAT OF THE DAY:

I was sucked into oblivion. The moment I woke up and realized that this is the day (let me do that again) THE DAY, I fell into the in-between of excitement and feAR. I KNEW I WAS A BIT TOO EARLY FOR THE TEN AM CALL TIME BUT I LEFT HOME EARLY ANYWAY. I was aiming for the avoidance of traffic. Having that mindset, i took a standing ovation bus ride to INSULAR BUILDING. When I got off the train, I felt the buildings of Makati crash on me.

OH NO. MAKATI'S EATEN ME ALIVE.

I continued to travel the inner digestive system of Makati. I walked by what it seemed to me as a passage to Wonderland. It was an underpass. When I got to the other side, I eventually arrived at the building where i will be working. DM9, here i come... I said.

the nice yellow chair in the lobby

And yes, I came. I've seen, finally, the voice that calls me Mr. Paul. He was the security personnel, and his name is Lawrence. He told me to wait for my co-intern, Rachel, before we would proceed to the interview with Miss Judy. Contrary to the blogs that I've stalked, DM9's walls aren't yellow... Well, at least the chairs in the lobby are. There's an orchestra of trophies that sang me a lullaby... it was a beautiful musical extravaganza--- it was telling me to dream about working in this place.

the espresso machine is more interesting. :D

Rachel came in a bit late. once seated, Ms. Judy greeted us and gave us what seemed to me as a briefing. I landed on Accounts/ Copywriting while Rachel was forced to go to creatives... it was a dual partnership--- we're a team now. After a short tour, we were brought to the famous BATCAVE--- the official tambayan of DM9 Interns.

the epic batcave. :D

Work came early as Miss Isa from the Accounts told us that we are to work on competitive analyses due tomorrow. The twist of the day came: Rachel was summoned by another Wonderland, a land where she seemed to belong to... And so we had to tell Ms. Isa that your Ranting Hatter will be left alone--- and she said its not a problem... I would just be doing all 30 comp. analyses due the next morning... Good thing though, i did not have a laptop... So... wait... it's a bad thing, coz I have to bring home a bunch of homeworks. Imagine first day.

Frankly, I'm excited... I could dance and dance and dance like the Mad Hatter because of happiness. I mean, I could and i would make them TEA, even conduct a TEA PARTEA for them if they want to... I just wanna work. :D

Rachel and I went out for lunch and i insisted we go to GB1 because my girl is there... I'd like to steal a kiss and a hug... So we went there and met my girl... Afterwards, we bought meals from KFC and decided we eat at the pantry of our office instead... But it was really an awkward thing to do... We felt like ants... :))

Later on, Rachel and I went back to the cave. Sooner than expected, Rachel was dismissed since she will no longer work in DM9... I soon had an opportunity to work. The people from DM9 worked it out so that I could work on a laptop...

the toil begins. :D

at 14:43, I started working.
at 14:56, I really started working...
at 16:40, it's break time.
at 18:32, I stopped... I've accomplished 13 c.a. by then.
at 18:38, i started working again.
at 19:20, I worked... worked... worked...
went home at around 20:45. Worked hard to finish 7 remaining c.a.s...

Day ended at 1:00 am.

HATS OFF TO THE NEW PRESIDENT

The Ranting Hatter also takes his hat off to honor the 15th President of the Republic of the Philippines, BENIGNO SIMEON "NOYNOY" AQUINO III.

The Ranting Hatter followed the journey of the President-Elect from the death of his mother, Corazon Aquino, to his Proclamation. This post will be devoted on the appraisal of Noynoy Aquino's first press conference as President of the Philippines.

To the 15 million Filipinos, Noynoy was worthy of winning the election. These 15 million, considered majority, believed that Noynoy Aquino possessed all the requirements for the country's next President, or more so, Savior. GMA's talons and solons have disposed the country's dignity in exchange of selfish gains. Noynoy was seen by 15 million Filipinos as the ultimate solution to respond to the problem that is the Arroyo Administration.

To the rest of the voting population, considered even a vast majority as compared to the minimum 15 million, Noynoy Aquino will be a failure.

Then the proclamation happened. Then Noynoy Aquino had his PRESS CONFERENCE.

And there, right at the brink of the cup that is held by so many journalists and cameras, Noynoy Aquino proved his worth.

President Aquino faced the world with dignity, honesty, and wit. It is not a surprise for the 15 million Filipinos--- they voted for Noynoy because they've seen and heard this before. But for the many Anti-Noynoy or Pro-others, the press conference has to prove something. It should make them realize that THE BEST THING TO DO IN THIS TRANSITION FILLED WITH HOPE AND PRAYERS, is to actually TRUST NOYNOY AQUINO JUST LIKE HOW THE 15 MILLION PEOPLE DO.

We saw formidable solutions laid down on the table. We heard a steadfast and direct answer filled with no hints of politicking. We witnessed the new President as he honestly connected to the journalists from all over the world.

Some of the answers that impressed the Ranting Hatter were these:

"No. Definitely he will not be the AFP Chief." - on General Delfin Bangit

"Our first task is to identify the problems. How could we make solutions if we don't know what the REAL problems are?" - on his first agenda as President

"I'd hand you a list of our platforms. Your question will be answered by that. but in any case, I'll give you few." -on a question challenging his plans for the mahihirap, which was followed by:

a) a push for a tie-up between TESDA and Dep-Ed to provide solution to the youth who do not like to go to college anymore. When they graduate HS, they must be able to find a job. So TESDA will take care of it.
b) PHILHEALTH- let's make it a hundred percent coverage.

We had an impressive first glance on the new President.

To the cynical few, the bitter Gordon and Gibonatics, or the Losers like Jamby and JC, it's time to reconsider. There we had a good president ready to assume the post. Keep the faith.

And so, to the new president, the Ranting Hatter is excited to see what you will bring upon us.

Note that the Ranting Hatter will keep an eye on you. Support will be given. Protection from Gonzales' Shadow Cabinet will be given. But take this in: You give us what we all expect from a President that is, at this point in time, an epitome of HOPE.

Pilipinas Got Talent

The Ranting Hatter celebrates the victory of Jovit Baldivino, a Batangeño who won the hearts of many Filipinos with his rocker voice and his humble beginnings.

Continuing the legacy of Got Talent Franchise, we get to realize once again that LOOKS matter in contests that do not really value the talent. Jovit may not be the marketable dude in the competition, but the many fans who believed he should make it to the top brought the victory to this simple and talented dude.

THE RANTING HATTER TAKES HIS HAT OFF for Jovit Baldivino.
(He shares with the PGT Champion's victory since the Ranting Hatter spent 7.50 for voting Jovit) hehehehehe. :D
